How do I deal with static in my wool& garment?Updated 3 months ago

We totally get that static can be annoying! Here are our top tips for combatting static in your wool& piece:

1. Natural fiber leggings
Our #1 tip if you are wearing leggings is to wear wool or natural fiber leggings rather than synthetic fibers like polyester, acrylic, etc. This makes the absolute biggest difference according to our customers. (An additional bonus - like your dress, they will require less laundering than synthetic leggings.)

2. Launder the dress sooner rather than later
Wash your dress and let it air dry. Often that initial laundering can improve the situation.

3. Metal hanger
Before putting on your dress, glide a metal clothing hanger or item through the inside of the item - the metal discharges the electricity, thereby removing the static.

4. Safety pin
Hiding a metal safety pin into the inside seam or pocket of your garment. The metal prevents that static electricity conducts by touching something - easy and nobody sees it!

5. Moisturize
Making sure your legs are moisturized can help. If you have a little extra lotion on your hands, run them along the top of your legs or under the skirt of your dress.

6. Freezer
Put it in the freezer for half an hour and it discharges static electricity from your clothing.

7. Wear a slip
Wearing a slip under your dress can help with static.

8. Change your shoes
Leather shoes or leather soles do not build-up electrical charge as easily as a rubber sole.
